Removal of Posts

If you feel that material has been posted on my site which defames you, I will take appropriate action. According to English law, defamation is broadly defined as a publication communicated to someone, other than the subject, which tends to "lower him in the estimation of right thinking members of society generally", or exposes him to public hatred, contempt or ridicule or which causes him to be shunned or avoided. Defamatory publications will include aspersions upon an individual's reputation for honour, honesty and integrity, as well as disparagement of an individual's reputation in trade, business, profession or office. A statement which is true will not be defamatory, however, the onus is on the maker to prove the truth of his/her statements, not on anyone alleging defamation to disprove them.

If you object to a statement made about you on this board please reply to the post in question indicating that you consider it defamatory. This will give the poster the opportunity to delete their post. Admin will remove the post from public view pending receipt of a Solicitor's letter explaining why they consider the post defamatory. If the letter is not received within 7 days the post will be returned to view.
