Well that went down the pan big time

I backed Norwich to win Both halves at 5/2

then 2/3 way through the second half laid 'em to score the next goal @ 1/2 so couldn't lose

I also Backed Scunny/Sheff United to be more than 2.5 Goals

I'm £6 up on the night

Since Christmas I'm about £15 up so fairly happy with a dew bets a week on selected games.

Debating a punt on Marseilles for tomorrow, and then laying it off if they score first

I wonder why Spurs can beat AC Milan but fail to conquer Blackpool. It doesn't make any sense at all.

That's true and I seem to remember we lost to them twice last season. :(

Well I'd not have bet on Birmingham beating Arsenal.

Me neither. You may remember that I had £10 on Arsenal winning the Carling Cup before the beginning of the season at 17 ..... luckily I had laid my stake (though I don't remember doing it!) once they were through to the final. All goes to show that there is no sure thing in life.

I think there are only 2 teams in the title race (in spite of having just said "All goes to show that there is no sure thing in life" ! )

March Premier League Fixtures:

Man Utd

Tomorrow Chelsea v Man Utd, 19:45
Sunday, 6 March 2011 Liverpool v Man Utd, 13:30
Saturday, 19 March 2011 Man Utd v Bolton, 15:00

Arsenal

Saturday, 5 March 2011 Arsenal v Sunderland, 15:00
Saturday, 19 March 2011 West Brom v Arsenal, 15:00

Arsenal might pick up some points, but not enough to end the month top in my book.

Missed it! I don't follow Scottish Football any more than Spanish or Italian.

I see Fergie is in trouble over his comments implying Atkinson wasn't fair. I don't think that there is any doubt that the Ref had a poor game verging on the criminal, even allowing for the fact the match was at Stamford bridge - referees should be able to rise above the home crowd. United could and should have won, but having said that we failed to perform & complete and I think Chelsea deserved their win. I think their performance was the most respectable that I have ever seen from them. Well done the blues.

Now why didn't I think of this?

The chairman of a French village football team has been suspended after making an audacious attempt to sign Lionel Messi.

FC Borne’s Cédric Enjolras submitted the formal request to sign Barcelona’s World Player of the Year last month after a boozy night out with friends.

However, the official request was intercepted by the French Football Federation who decided against sending it to Barcelona – instead suspending Cédric Enjolras for six months with three suspended.

Yves Begon, chairman of the FFF committee, acknowledged the request was a joke but that they “could not accept such behaviour”.

The French village, which has a population of just 400 people, play in the second division of the Haute-Loire district in the south of central France – a world away from where La Liga’s chief tormentor plies his exquisite trade.

Messi has already scored more than 40 goals for the Spanish side this season in the domestic game and in Europe and is widely regarded as one of the game’s greatest ever talents.

Great result against Arsenal, feel sorry for Johan Djourou

Nice to see Valencia Back, a little rusty and wary of tackles but that's to be expected

and top striker in the League FABIO stats for the season Shots 2 on target 2 goals 2 !

Unfortunately when I saw the teams and united with 7 Defenders I backed Arsenal to win

Understandable, especially at the odds being offered. Fergie just cemented his reputation as a tactical genius! He also made plain exactly how much more important Champions League is than the FA Cup.

I agree it was nice to see Valencia back, good timing as well. A relief to see Smalling play so well, it's a relief to not need Ferdinand seeing as Evans isn't up to the job (I suspect he will go now). True to form to see Scholes nearly get sent off, even with only 10 mins pitch time. When he replaced Evra I said to Claire "he'll be off in 2 mins if they don't put O'Shea at left back".

So let's See

United can do the treble
Chelsea the double ( league and CL )
Man city the poor mans treble ( League, Cup and Europa league )
Spurs win CL
Arsenal the League

and Liverpool F*&^ All !

Seriously though the way it's panning out

There will be a lot of upset teams re europe

top 4 CL - Assume United, Arsenal, Chelsea and City
League Cup winners - Europa Cup Birmingham
FA Cup winners or runners up Europa League ( Bolton or Stoke )
so that leaves 1 Europa Cup Place for the league - Spurs or Liverpool I rather fancy Spurs so that means no European football next season at all for Liverpool, now I think that may make some minds up come the summer

That's going to upset some Liverpool fans - just when they thought the nightmare was over. They are yet to discover if Carrol is worth £30m - I'd rather have Drogba any day.

Liverpool are the new Newcastle. (not sure which team that insults most)

Apart from it being £35 Million not £30

and what a tame effort from Liverpool in Europe.

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned Arsenal's tame effort in Europe. Although I have to admit that I think Van Persie's red card was very harsh. I don't think it altered the outcome of the match though - Barcelona outplayed them.

I think interest in CL only takes off at the Quarter Final stage, of course you are going to be VERY interested this year :D

Chelsea or Spurs for CL spot next year?

The way we're playing in the Premier League at the moment, it looks like it will be Chelsea.
