Spurs have crossed an enormous barrier - players will come to the club a lot more readily knowing that they can get CL football. You have an enormous achievement getting to the quarter final & there could be more to come. Spurs are 31/1 to win, it's a knockout competition so I would think they are worth a punt.

I'm a realist, Nick. Getting to one stage further than Arsenal is brilliant but I'm not expecting much more - hoping, but not expecting.

Strange how players are treated by Pundits

"Vidic " - Should have been given a second yellow card for that

"Reina" - No comment on the clear dissent after the first Penalty, the second was a clear red card as he was last man.

"Rooney" yes it was OTT but I've seen others do far worse, in fact I can remember Paul Gascoigne sticking two fingers up at fans and the pundits saying "oh thats Gazza being Gazza, it's funny"

All that proves is that it's time something was done. If you behave like that down the shopping center you'd be dragged down the Nick for a caution. If the FA isn't prepared to act maybe the CPS can bring a few criminal actions ...........

If you lay a Chelsea win it isn't the opposite of Chelsea qualifying because of a draw or 0-1 result.

Laying Chels to qualify is now 4.1

Chelsea must win to qualify !

a draw is no good cos united have a 1-0 lead

so even 6-6 united win on aggregate

1-0 Chelsea gives them a win but united still might qualify yes, but Chelsea need to win in 90 mins to Qualify

yes you were right my Brain had slipped

Tempting 7.6/1

Arsenal Finish Top United second

Given United have to Play Arsenal and Chelsea still

I'd Put £5 on that then Lay £5 on united to Win against whichever they play first and if that wins another 2.50 + 1/2 the profit from the first bet on the second

As I see it United must get a maximum of 1 point from those those 2 games not to win and I just can't see us lower than second.

In reality Lose to Chelsea Draw with Arsenal may well be good enough

And of course I'd actually like to see the last game of the season meaningless for us so we can afford to lose to Blackpool

just checked my Season bets and took 4 on WBA being relegated then laid it off at 2 when hodgson took over I have a nice guaranteed win.

And my silly £4.85 on the United V Chelsea being > 2.5 goals eventually paid off nicely

I lost £20 for backing there being more than 3.5 goals I really thought Chelsea would go for it & consequently scoring, & it would end up a high scoring match with Man U scoring on break aways. I thought it might be 4-3 or something & had unmatched bets for > 4.5 > 5.5 > 6.5 - lucky for me they weren't matched. Interestingly there was another area where you could bet on more than 2,3,4,5,6.7 goals - i.e. the same bets worded differently. Also interestingly the odds were lower there (significantly for the higher odds bets).

It's clearly not just punters betting against each other - if you place an unmatched bet in an area where no money is bet, then shortly after a pile of money is placed on similar bets.

That must hurt!

I've got money on them! To win:

The league at 3.85 (last July)
The FA Cup at 6.8 (November)
Champions League at 11 (November)
Berbatov to be league top scorer 8.2

I can't see us beating Barcelona so recently I put a bet on us getting to the CL final at 5.1

Having seen £100 fly out of the window when Arsenal didn't win the Carling Cup a treble would recoup that for me. Before you worry about my losing a fortune, I'm not putting new money into the account - when it's gone (I put £25 in originally) I will close the account. I peaked at £200, and I think I will end this season having lost £100 of that (I'll need 2 of the above to happen). Of course if all those happen I'll go back above my peak.

£6 @ 2.68 on Real Makes me £10.08 Profit
Just Laid £12 on Real at 1.23 Costs me £2.76 if Real Win reduces the profit to£ 7.32, but Gives me £6 profit on either a Spurs Win or a draw so a nice no lose position

Re the 5.1 on getting to the final

If you put £10 on you would win £41

If You put £13 on Schalke at 4

you would then be in a position

United make it you win £28
Schalke Knock us out you win £29

Crystal Palace Vs Scunthorpe Saturday

Vital Game for Both teams

Palace Win then it almost certainly dooms the bottom 3
Scunthorpe win - then they have a squeak of getting out of the bottom 3

Draw no use to either so I reckon it'll either be very low scoring 1-0 either way or 5 or more goals

I've just had an instruction from the wife to put £5 on Man U. doing the treble! I'm not too keen being so commited on Man U bets already, plus I can't see it happening. However she is not the sort of lady to be ignored - the trouble is I can't work out how to place such a bet. I think I have to make out a "multiple coupon".

I see they are running a "Next Torres Goal"

Odds on a massive points deduction for QPR ?

one wonder if backing cardiff at 30/1 to win the league might be a bit of fun

Nah laying at 1.07 looks like a laugh

£25 at 1.07 costs me £1.75 if they win but I win £25 if they get a big points deduction

7 serious Breaches of the rules Could mean a massive deduction ie enough to ensure relegation

Nice win for Scunny

Betfair let you do strange things !

I cashed the bet out then put it straight back on which increased the profit !
