Property Developer's Wife in Mystery Manslaughter

Postby Nick » Mon Jan 28, 2013 6:30 pm

A national story which I thought I would report here as there are a number of connections (including a member with houses by the Urban Splash Chimney Pot Estate).

Nicole Falkingham, wife of the chief executive of Urban Splash Jonathan Falkingham, was found outside a house at Eastwood, Otterspool, on Friday.

A provisional post mortem examination revealed hypothermia and acute alcohol intoxication as the cause of death, said Merseyside Police.

A 48-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman from Aigburth have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

They were both released pending further inquiries.

When officers arrived at the address they discovered a cannabis factory with more than 100 plants. The man and woman were also arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis.

Manchester-based property developer Urban Splash has created many landmark residential and business properties across the UK.

It is well-known for bringing derelict buildings back into use, most notably the famous Art Deco Midland Hotel in Morecambe, Lancashire, and Fort Dunlop in Birmingham.
