Don't mention plumbers! I'm still getting hassle from the cowboy who fitted my boiler on 1 April last year. Yes, I was the April Fool. I read a very good review about his company and decided to employ him. I later discovered the review was "written on a computer using the same ISP as the company itself".

I wrote my own review - an accurate account of the problems encountered. The owner of the company is demanding that I remove the review as it is affecting his business. He claims to have a signed statement from me saying I would remove the review but if he has, he has forged it himself because although he asked me to do so, I certainly never signed such a statement.

I can't seem to link direct to the page - probably because I had to sign in to get there but this is the site:

http://www.freeindex.co.uk/

The company is Airtec of West Mersea, Essex.

In case you can't see it - I think he's removed the company from the directory - this is the review:

During installation the electrics failed - our electrician has since said a cable had been drilled in to or cut through.

After weeks of having the electricity cut out and sometimes being unable to restore it at all, we had to have an extremely expensive electrical overhaul which even now leaves us without power points on one side of our kitchen. Nothing can be done about this unless we have the house rewired.

When Gas Safe inspected the installation they were not satisfied and called Airtec back to put several things right.

We also pointed out that the living room radiators - which worked perfectly before the boiler was changed - were no longer getting warm, let alone hot. Airtec were extremely reluctant to do anything about this despite having told Gas Safe that they would.

After their visit we noticed the bathroom was in a filthy condition - it wasn't before - and the heated towel rail was leaking from the valve. We reported this to them and they promised to return to fix it.

We have not seen or heard from them since.
