Boffer Bust

Postby Nick » Sat Jul 16, 2011 1:16 am

It looks like Boffer has closed for business. It's funny because only 2 days ago I suggested on their Forums that they must be in financial trouble - in recent weeks their boffers have been dire, and I've had my last boffer fail to materialise, yet had no response to my ticket. Looks like I am chasing a credit card refund now..

Interestingly their sister company http://www.bigoffers.co.uk/ is still trading.

I don't remember it. It seems unusual to close the Forums down if they were intending to carry on business. I just did a search on twitter but the only info that I found was someone else like me with no goods and an open ticket.

Well they have returned - and in fine fettle! I have now bought 2 items - an HD Camcorder which I am delighted with & cost £45 (!)

& an iPad lookalike on Android for £110.

If you are into reselling they had

Which retail for £25 (I ask myself why? ) for £1.99 delivered.

Looks like they are in business again!

They have "reverse auctions" now instead - I've not got involved because they've never had anything that I want, and looks to me as if you have to stay up into the early hours to win.

I've picked up a couple of freebies - a CD (turned out to be Gareth Gates   ) & a Mobile Phone Charm

Image

nothing to write on a forum about, but they paid the postage as well so hey

They've had a few techie bargains, iPads & stuff, but I don't think that they are for resellers any more.

Ooo look - they've closed AGAIN!

BOFFER WILL BE CLOSING DOWN FOR A SERIOUS MAKEOVER!

We will reopen as an online retail store where we will have hundreds of offers for you to shop till you drop!

Don't worry we will of course still have the killer deal of the day!!! But rest assured this will be bigger and better than before.

Once our makeover is complete we will unveil our new look to all our Boffer Fans.

Don’t miss out on the big launch.......we will keep you all posted!

Isn't that the exact same wording as last time - that's lazy!

I've saved a fortune since Boffer stopped trading! Sure I got some fabulous deals, but I was also buying stuff that I didn't need - 50 Parker pens being an example, they seemed great for £25 but it was so long before I've got around to using them that these days I'm throwing 75% away as they don't work!

Strange that Nick,

I used to buy lots of stuff to resell, but then often others did as well and only the first 2-3 to stick stuffon ebay made a Profit.

We have decided to reinvent ourselves as an online wholesaler rather than retailer. Boffer will now be a deal a day site for eBay, Amazon and other market traders to source wholesale stock.

Boffer will now supply high quality stock for low prices to professional sellers to resell for a profit through various online and offline channels. Initially this will be in the format of a daily deal i.e. one product or job lot per day. As we are now selling stock on behalf of receivers, administrators and finance companies we must sell the stock. Every daily deal will have a buy it now price or you are welcome to make us an offer as well.

Just wondering whether there was scope for Co-Operative buying?
